Independent operation: a country house resilient to external conditions

A modern countryside house is not only about comfort and aesthetics — it’s also about independence from external conditions.
In this project, autonomy became one of the key priorities: the house is capable of operating without connection to central utility networks, providing the owner with complete freedom and confidence in the reliable performance of all systems.

Why is independent operation essential?

In conditions of unstable power supply and the remote location of countryside properties, it is critically important that the house remains fully functional in any situation:

  • During power outages
  • In cold weather
  • When public utility services are disrupted

Backup power system

  • Perkins Diesel Generator (10 kW)
In the event of a power outage, the house automatically switches to backup power.

  • An Automatic Transfer Switch (ATS) activates the generator within seconds, ensuring that residents are never left without light, heat, or communication.

  • Priority load distribution. To minimize fuel consumption, critical systems — such as heating, refrigeration, and security — receive power first, while less essential devices are powered based on availability.

  • Automatic consumption control. The system monitors the load level and adjusts operating modes according to current demand.

Self-contained heating system

  • Primary heating — Air-to-water heat pump
An economical and efficient solution that operates even at low temperatures, providing the home with heat at minimal cost.

  • Backup heat source — Grandeg solid fuel boiler (25 kW)
Ensures reliable heating during extreme cold or when maintenance is being performed on the heat pump.

  • Automated heating control
The system adapts to both indoor and outdoor temperatures, optimizing energy consumption and reducing costs.

Off-grid independence

  • Autonomous water supply system
The house is equipped with its own well and water purification system, ensuring uninterrupted water supply at any time.

  • Local sewage system
A modern biological wastewater treatment system is used, making the house completely independent from municipal networks.

Full control over autonomous systems

  • Remote control via smartphone
The owner can monitor and manage the generator, heating, and other systems from anywhere in the world.

  • Automatic failure notifications
If any system malfunctions, the owner receives an immediate alert, enabling prompt action.

Complete freedom and safety

This house is an example of how to create a fully autonomous living space, prepared for any unforeseen situations. At Pyramis, we design homes that are independent of external conditions, allowing owners to live comfortably regardless of circumstances.

WE THINK AHEAD

We don’t just design engineering systems.
We create life infrastructure that works seamlessly, delivering maximum comfort, stability, and control. If you're looking for solutions that will remain relevant not only today but also in the future — let’s talk about your project.
