Minimal energy consumption: how a country house design reduces resource costs

Energy efficiency is one of the main priorities of modern construction. this country house was designed with a focus on minimal energy consumption, which allowed reducing operating costs and increasing resident comfort.

Key principles of energy efficiency

A modern house should not only consume fewer resources but also wisely distribute energy, retaining it where necessary. To achieve this, the project implements several strategies:

  • Effective thermal insulation
  • Optimization of engineering systems
  • Use of intelligent resource management

Energy-efficient materials and technologies

  • Walls with high thermal insulation coefficient as the main building material, ceramic block with a thickness of 440 mm filled with perlite in the air chambers was chosen. this natural material has low thermal conductivity (0.04–0.06 w/m·k), which minimizes heat loss and maintains a comfortable temperature in the house without the need for constant heating.
  • Panoramic energy-saving windows rehau double-glazed units with enhanced thermal insulation are used. they allow maximum sunlight in while retaining heat inside, reducing the load on the heating system.
  • Flat roof with overheating protection designed with pronounced eaves that prevent overheating in summer by blocking direct sunlight and protect against precipitation in the cold season.
  • Heating system based on a heat pump the main heat source is an air-to-water heat pump with a capacity of 32 kw, which is 5 times more efficient than traditional electric heaters. it uses ambient air energy, which reduces heating costs several times over.
  • Intelligent microclimate control the house is divided into heating zones that are automatically regulated based on temperature, humidity, and CO₂ levels. this allows energy to be used only where it is truly needed.
  • Heat recovery system ventilation with heat recovery returns up to 80% of heat from exhausted air back into the system, reducing electricity consumption and ensuring a constant supply of fresh air.
  • Energy-saving lighting lighting is based on led technology with intelligent control. motion sensors and lighting scenarios reduce unnecessary electricity consumption.

Energy efficiency in action

Thanks to these solutions, the home’s energy consumption is reduced by up to 50% compared to traditional buildings of similar size.
